Description
This medium-high-density, flexible polyurethane expanding foam is designed for applications requiring durability, flexibility, and controlled expansion.
With a density of approximately 160 kg/m³ (10 lb/ft³), it offers higher strength, tear resistance, and compression recovery than lower-density foams, while remaining comfortably flexible.
This makes it suitable for professional prop making, padding, and industrial cushioning.
The system features a 1A:1B mix ratio by volume, allowing for simple and repeatable measuring in production or workshop settings.
Once mixed, it provides a pot life of about 60 seconds, allowing time for thorough mixing and controlled pouring before the reaction accelerates.
FlexFoam-iT!™ X expands to roughly 6 times its original liquid volume, ensuring predictable fill and a uniform internal cell structure with minimal risk of voids or over-expansion.
After pouring, parts reach a handling time of about 60 minutes, at which point they can be demolded, trimmed, or assembled without distortion.
Full cure is typically achieved in approximately four hours, delivering final mechanical properties within the same working day.
The cured foam is typically white, resilient, and tough while remaining flexible. It can be easily cut, drilled, sanded, or coated with compatible paints or elastomer skins, and pigments may be added to the liquid components when color matching is required.
Thanks to its 160 kg/m³ (10 lb/ft³) density and excellent durability, it is commonly used for stunt and costume padding, rugged props, set pieces, ergonomic supports, protective cushioning, and semi-structural foam fills where lower-density foams lack sufficient strength but full rigid foams are not desired.
