Description

URE-FIL™ 11 is a fiber-based filler designed to thicken urethane and silicone rubbers, urethane plastics, and epoxies for brush-on applications. It is compatible with all Smooth-On silicones, including those that do not respond to THI‑VEX™, such as Mold Max™ 40.

For optimal results, thoroughly disperse the filler in liquid rubber or resin until a uniform consistency is achieved. When using large amounts of filler, add it to the completely mixed rubber or resin. This involves combining both parts A and B of the rubber or resin, mixing thoroughly, and then incorporating the filler. Ensure there are no lumps by using the 'double-mix and pour' technique.

Instructions

Mixing Instructions:

Disperse URE-FIL™ thoroughly in liquid rubber or resin.
For large concentrations, mix parts A and B of the rubber or resin, then add filler.
Use the 'double-mix and pour' technique for best results.

Guarding Against Moisture:

All powder fillers absorb moisture, which can react with urethane materials.
If bubbling or foaming occurs, the filler may contain moisture.

Remedy:

Spread filler on a foil-lined cookie sheet at 0.95 cm-1.25 cm (3/8"-1/2") thickness.
Bake at 60°C (150°F) for 4 hours.
Cool to room temperature before use.
