Description

OOMOO™ 25 is a silicone rubber compound that is easy to use with a simple one-to-one by volume mix ratio, eliminating the need for a scale.

It has low viscosity, making mixing and pouring straightforward, and does not require vacuum degassing.

OOMOO™ 25 cures at room temperature with negligible shrinkage, offering a 15-minute working time and a 75-minute cure time.

It is suitable for art-related and industrial applications, including making one and two-piece block molds for sculpture and prototype reproduction, casting plaster, resins, and wax.

OOMOO™ 25 can also be used for electrical potting and encapsulation applications.

Instructions

Safety

Use in a well-ventilated area. Wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and vinyl gloves.

N.B. use vinyl gloves only, as latex gloves will inhibit curing.

Storage

Store and use at room temperature (23°C). Warmer temperatures reduce working and cure time.

Storing at cooler temperatures will extend the shelf life.

Cure Inhibition

Contaminants may inhibit curing, leading to tackiness or incomplete cure.

Test compatibility by applying a small amount to a non-critical area.

Inhibition may occur with sulfur-based clays and latex rubber.

Use a sealing agent or clear acrylic lacquer as a barrier coat.

Applying A Release Agent

The use of a release agent is usually not necessary, but will help with the ease of demolding. Use Ease Release™ 200. Spray the object once, then brush lightly over the surface, spry once more lightly and let dry for 30 minutes.

Test on an identical surface if unsure.

Measuring & Mixing

Premix Parts A and B.

Dispense equal amounts into a container and mix for 3 minutes, scraping sides and bottom.

Ensure a uniform color without streaks.

Pouring

Pour the mixture at the lowest point of the enclosure. Allow rubber to flow over the model, leveling at least 1.3 cm (1/2") above the highest point.

Curing

Cure for 75 minutes at 23°C before demolding.

Optional: Post-cure for 4 hours at 65°C to remove residual moisture and alcohol.

Cool the mold to room temperature before use. Do not cure below 18°C.

Using The Mold

No release agent is needed for wax or gypsum. Use Ease Release™ 200 for polyurethane, polyester, and epoxy resins to prevent sticking.

Spray the object once, then brush lightly over the surface, spry once more lightly and let dry for 30 minutes.

Test on an identical surface if unsure.

Mold Performance & Storage

Mold life depends on use.

Abrasive materials like concrete erode detail faster than non-abrasive materials like wax.

Clean molds with soap solution and dry before storage.

Store assembled molds on a level surface in a cool, dry place.
