Description

This high-performance flexible urethane foam is designed for applications requiring toughness, durability, and controlled expansion. 

FlexFoam-iT!™ 15 "Tuff Stuff" SLOW has a density of 240 kg/m³ (15 lb/ft³) and yields a white finished material that combines strength with flexibility. 

This makes it suitable for props, padding, cushions, molds, and structural inserts that must withstand repeated use and impact.

It is ideal for building stunt props, ergonomic cushions, special effects pieces, or industrial components, offering a reliable balance of strength, flexibility, and controlled processing times.

Instructions

Preparation: Store and use at room temperature (23°C). Ensure a low humidity environment (below 50% RH). 

Use mixing containers with straight sides and a flat bottom. Mixing sticks should be flat and stiff with defined edges. 

Ensure good ventilation. Wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves. 

Conduct a small test application to determine suitability. Replace lids immediately after use to prolong shelf life. 

Use XTEND-IT™ Dry Gas Blanket to extend shelf life.

Applying a Release Agent

Urethane foams are adhesive and will bond to many surfaces. Use Ease Release™ 2831 for most surfaces. For difficult releases, apply Universal Mold Release™ followed by Ease Release™ 2831. Do not use Universal Mold Release alone or silicone-based agents, as they will collapse the foam.

Pre-Mixing & Mixing

  • Pre-mix Parts A & B thoroughly before dispensing.
  • Measure accurately by weight.
  • Pre-mix Part B with a mechanical mixer for best results.
  • Mix for at least 15 seconds and pour into mold.
  • When hand mixing, stir quickly and scrape the sides and bottom of the container.

Pouring, Curing & Performance

  • Pour in a single spot at the lowest point of the containment field.
  • Allow space for foam expansion.
  • Cure for at least 30 minutes before handling.
  • Pouring large amounts may generate excess heat; consider step pouring in layers.
  • To improve surface finish, cap the mold cavity with a board with predrilled holes.
  • If foam collapses, ensure adequate mixing and warm up materials if cold.
