Description

This soft, flexible polyurethane expanding foam is designed for enhanced comfort and durability. 

With a density of approximately 128 kg/m³ (8 lb/ft³), FlexFoam-iT!™ VIII Pillow Soft offers improved support and resilience compared to lower-density foams, making it suitable for applications needing softness with better shape retention and longevity.

FlexFoam-iT!™ VIII Pillow Soft mixes at a 1A:1B ratio by volume, ensuring simple processing. Once combined, it provides a pot life of about 90 seconds, allowing for thorough mixing and controlled pouring. 

The foam expands to about 7 times its original liquid volume, ensuring a fine, uniform cell structure that minimizes voids and maintains consistent softness.

After pouring, the foam reaches a handling time of roughly 60 minutes, allowing for demolding, trimming, or gentle assembly without damage. 

Full cure is typically achieved in about 4 hours, after which the foam attains its final softness, flexibility, and mechanical properties. 

The cured foam is generally white, resilient, and highly compressible with excellent rebound. It can be cut, shaped, or sanded, and accepts compatible colorants if pigmentation is needed.

Due to its balanced softness and higher density, it is widely used for cushions, pillows, upholstery components, costume padding, ergonomic supports, soft props, and special effects elements where comfort, durability, and controlled expansion are critical. It is ideal for parts that must maintain their shape under repeated compression while remaining soft to the touch.

Instructions

  • Mix at a 1A:1B ratio by volume until uniform. 
  • Pour within approximately 90 seconds of working time. 
  • The foam expands about 7 times its original volume, so allow space in the mold. 
  • Do not disturb during the rise. 
  • Demold after approximately 60 minutes. 
  • Full cure is achieved in about 4 hours. 
  • Use clean, dry molds and a release agent if needed. 
  • Trim or shape after curing. 
  • Wear gloves, avoid moisture, and ensure good ventilation.
