Accu-Cast™ 370-SD™

Description

This fast-curing, high-strength alginate mold material is designed for prosthetic and orthotic socket duplication. It mixes easily with water and flows smoothly, capturing surface details before setting into a firm, supportive mold.

• Mix ratio: 1 part powder to 4 parts water by weight, or 2 parts powder to 3 parts water by volume
• Water temperature: approximately 21°C (70°F)
• Working time: about 2 minutes
• Total set/cure time: around 3 minutes
• Mixed material is off-white and forms a rigid gel
• Suitable for pouring plaster or other casting materials directly into the mold

Like all alginates, it is not dimensionally stable long-term and should be cast as soon as possible after molding for best accuracy. The setting speed can be adjusted slightly by changing the water temperature. It is widely used in prosthetics labs where speed, firmness, and reliable duplication are essential.

Instructions

This fast-setting alginate mold material is used for lifecasting and socket duplication. Follow these steps for optimal results:

1. Mix the powder with clean water at approximately 21–23°C using the recommended ratio.
2. Add powder to water and mix quickly to achieve a smooth, lump-free consistency.
3. Typical working time is about 2 minutes, with setting occurring in approximately 3–4 minutes, depending on water temperature.

• Use in a well-ventilated area.
• Wear safety glasses and a dust mask when handling dry powder.
• Avoid inhalation, eye contact, and ingestion.
• Clean tools immediately after use.
• Use molds promptly, as alginate dries and shrinks.
