Description

This gypsum cement is designed for lifecasting, ideal for reproducing human body parts using alginate molds. It features a convenient mix ratio of 2 parts stone to 1 part water by volume, or 2.3 parts stone to 1 part water by weight, providing a working time of approximately 15 minutes.

It can be used for solid casting or applied by hand for a thicker consistency. Castings can be demolded in about 3 hours and reach full cure in 24 hours. Once fully cured, the material can be machined, sanded, primed, and painted.

Instructions

This gypsum cement casting material is used for filling alginate or other molds to reproduce life castings and sculptures.

1. Mix powder with water at approximately 23 °C (73 °F) at a ratio of 2 parts powder to 1 part water by volume (about 2.3:1 by weight) until smooth and lump-free.
2. Working time is about 15 minutes; demold in about 3 hours, and full cure in 24 hours. Note that the amount of water can affect cure time.
3. Fully cured castings can be machined, sanded, primed, and painted.
4. Use in a well-ventilated area.
5. Wear safety glasses and a NIOSH-approved N95 dust mask when handling the dry powder to avoid inhalation.
6. Avoid eye contact, mucous membrane contact, and ingestion. Keep out of reach of children.
7. In case of eye contact, flush thoroughly with water and seek medical attention.
