Description
This liquid alginate blends easily with water to create a skin-safe moldmaking material. It is suitable for making single-use pourable molds of hands, feet, and other body parts, capturing excellent detail for accurate reproductions. For vertical body surfaces, other products in the range can be used.
Features
- Easy to use and cures quickly.
- Reproduces fine detail and makes excellent temporary molds.
- Good for one or two reproductions of any body part.
- Can cast plaster, ultra-fast urethane resin, or fast setting platinum silicone into the mold.
- Not tested for dental applications.
Technical Properties
- Mix Ratio By Volume: 5 Parts warm water (27°C) to 1 part Alja-Safe Breeze Liquid.
- Pot Life: 3 minutes.
- Cure Time: 8 minutes.
- Specific Volume: 0.94 cm³/g

Use Cases
Ideal for lifecasting materials and skin-safe FX materials. Suitable for creating realistic hands, limbs, and other body parts with soft “skin-like” castings using soft silicone rubber.
Instructions
Preparation
- Store and use at room temperature.
- If the material gets warm during storage/shipping in summer, store in a cool area (15°C - 21°C) for 24 hours before use.
- Has a limited shelf life and should be used as soon as possible.
- Do not allow moisture to contact unused material.
- Shake well before using.
Practice
Make a mold of your thumb or something small before larger models to gain experience.
Applying A Release Agent
- Will not stick to most surfaces.
- For body parts with hair, use a release preparation like a hair conditioner to prevent mechanical lock to the hair.
- Conduct a small test application to determine suitability for your project.
Measuring
- Mix 5 parts water to 1 part liquid by volume.
- Vary water ratio to change the consistency of the mixture. Less water makes it thicker; more water makes it thinner.
- Too much water may prevent curing.
Water Quality
- Water with a high mineral content may cause lumpiness or improper setting.
- Use distilled water if necessary, heated to the correct temperature.
Temperature Of The Water
- At 27°C (80°F), working time is 3 minutes, demold time is 8 minutes.
- Warmer water cures faster; colder water gives longer working time.
Mixing
- Hand mix using a flat, stiff mixing stick or use a power drill with a mixer attachment for best results.
- Mix for one minute to a gel-like consistency.
- Scrape sides and bottom of the container several times.
- Color changes from dark blue to light blue when well mixed.
Pouring Around An Object
- Pour around the model in a fixed position inside a container.
- Suspend the model above the bottom with at least 1.3 cm (½”) space from the sides.
- Apply a thin coating of mixed material to the model surface.
- Pour into the container at the lowest point and let it rise around the model.
- Keep the model still until the material sets up.
Casting Into The Mold
- Cast into the mold within 4 hours following demold.
- Common casting materials include plaster, wax, clay, and fast urethane resins.
- For soft “skin-like” castings, use soft silicone rubber.
Safety
- Adult supervision required.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
