Description

Beeswax is a natural product made by bees, used in various applications due to its unique properties.

Applications

  • Release agent for confectionery coatings, chocolate, tablets, chewing gum, and fruit treatments
  • Thickener and emollient in skincare products
  • Component in lipsticks, lip balms, mascara, beard balm, and mustache wax
  • Used in polishes for cars, shoes, leather, and wood
  • Material for making pillar, tea light, and container candles

Specifications

  • Solubility: Practically insoluble in water, partially soluble in hot ethanol, completely soluble in fatty and essential oils
  • Drop point: 61.0-66°C
  • Acid value: 17.0-22.0 mg/g
  • Ester value: 87.0-102.0 mg/g
  • Relative density at 23°C: 0.954-0.964 g/ml
  • Glycerols and other polyols: 0%-0.5%
  • Ceresine, paraffins, and certain other waxes: 59-65°C

Instructions

  • Melt beeswax gently using a double boiler to prevent overheating and degradation. 
  • Once fully melted, it can be blended with oils, resins, or other ingredients for use in cosmetics, candles, polishes, food coatings, or industrial applications. 
  • Pour into molds and allow to cool and solidify at room temperature.
  • Avoid direct heat or open flames, as hot wax can cause burns and is flammable at high temperatures. 
  • Use caution when handling molten wax, wear heat-resistant protection if needed, and keep out of reach of children. 
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
