Description
This high-performance, pre-blended concrete is designed for decorative, architectural, and artisanal applications. It includes fine aggregates, cement, pozzolans, and performance additives for excellent workability and a smooth finish. The mix is supplied without large aggregates or fibers, allowing customization of reinforcement, texture, and finish.
Its natural bone-white color is ideal for pigmentation, stains, polishing, and specialty surface treatments, enabling diverse design aesthetics. Suitable for hand-press, pour, spray, or trowel techniques, it is commonly used for countertops, sinks, wall panels, furniture, art pieces, and custom architectural elements. It develops strong early and long-term strength, resulting in durable, lightweight, and high-quality concrete pieces for both interior and exterior use.
By combining it with specific pigments, fibers, and sealers, artisans can achieve unique finishes and professional-grade results that enhance both form and function.
Instructions
Preparation - Getting Ready to Mix
- Assemble all ingredients before starting.
- Wear vinyl or nitrile gloves and protective eyewear.
- Use an accurate scale for weighing components.
- Use materials between 10°C - 32°C. Colder temperatures slow the reaction; warmer temperatures accelerate it.
- Monitor the mix temperature with a laser thermometer, keeping it near 15°C.
- In warm environments, substitute up to 50% of the water weight with ice.
- The mix has a shelf life of 1 year if stored in a dry, moisture-free environment. Use opened material as soon as possible.
Mixing Instructions
- Use clean, potable water and clean mixing vessels.
- Use a handheld mortar mixer. For regular or large projects, consider a vertical shaft mixer.
- Combine water and pigment, mixing thoroughly.
- Add 50% of the water reducer to the water. Slowly add dry ingredients while blending.
- Slowly add PVA Fibers to the mix. Blend until homogeneous.
- Adjust with water reducer for desired consistency.
If Using Acrylic Fiber:
- Overdosing acrylic fibers can choke the mix. Experiment to find the best method for your design.
Casting Techniques
- Clay Technique: A stiff recipe for pressing up vertical walls and molds, creating durable finishes. Add fibers slowly to avoid choking the mix.
- Cast Technique: A soft consistency ideal for casting and troweling, suitable for simple forms like countertops.
- Flowable Technique: A fluid mix for filling intricate molds with minimal effort.
Curing
- Keep concrete warm and moist while curing. Maintain ambient temperature at a minimum of 10°C.
- Use moist felt or fabric followed by plastic sheeting to retain moisture, covered by blankets or insulation to keep heat.
- Demold after 24-48 hours, depending on conditions.
Polishing
- Polish wet or dry. Wet polishing is recommended for health safety and true grit finish.
- Use pads of 200 grit or higher to maintain the cream layer. Progress to finer grits for higher sheen and aggregate exposure.
Sealing
- Concrete needs sealing for specific environments and uses. Choose the appropriate sealer for the finished piece and skill level.
