The ECC Blended Mix is designed using advanced concrete mix design theory to produce high ductility and tensile capacity, making it more likely to bend than break. Originally developed for seismic zones, it has been modified to improve characteristics while maintaining performance.
Pour the ECC Blended Mix into a clean mixing container. Add clean water gradually while mixing until a smooth, workable consistency is achieved. Mix thoroughly for several minutes to fully activate the preblended components, including the curing polymer. Adjust workability if needed using an appropriate water reducer. Place the mix into prepared molds or forms at the desired thickness, typically 1.9–2.5 cm (0.75–1 in), or about 0.95 cm (3/8 in) for tiles. Consolidate and distribute the material evenly to remove trapped air and ensure proper fiber dispersion. Finish the surface as desired. Allow the material to cure undisturbed in a controlled environment. Pigments may be added during mixing if color is desired. Clean tools immediately after use with water.
