Description

URE-FIL™ 19 consists of large grain aluminum pellets, each measuring 1200 microns. These pellets are ideal for use in resin casting, particularly when combined with smaller grain pellets for uniform filling. They are designed to:

Improve thermal conductivity in urethane and epoxy resins, making them suitable for high-temperature applications.
Add weight to metal cold-castings, providing a feel similar to solid metal at a lower cost than traditional metal foundry castings.
Lower exothermic temperatures during the curing process, which minimizes shrinkage and enhances dimensional stability in large castings.
Create metallic visual effects when used with clear and colored liquid plastics.
Allow machining operations such as cutting, drilling, and turning once the resin is fully cured.
Be unsuitable as fillers in RTV rubber products.

Instructions

URE-FIL™ 17 and 19 pellets are recommended for use with Smooth-On® liquid epoxy and urethane resins. To ensure proper dispersion, follow these steps:

Dispense pellets into a mixing container.
Mix Parts A and B of the resin thoroughly in a separate container.
Pour the resin mixture onto the pellets and stir thoroughly to encapsulate them.

Note: Pellets are sharp and should not be handled with bare hands. Exposed pellets can damage mold surfaces, so apply a gel or face coat layer to the mold surface before casting. Allow this layer to partially cure before backfilling with the resin/pellet mixture.

Mix Ratios:

For unfilled resins (by weight or volume): 1 part mixed resin (A + B) + 2 parts filler.
For aluminum-filled resins (by weight): 1 part mixed resin (A + B) + 1 part filler.
