Description

This flame-rated sprayable polyurethane plastic is designed to economically coat various surfaces. It cures in about 2 seconds and can be applied to vertical surfaces without running off, allowing large areas to be covered quickly. The cured plastic is lightweight, flame, impact, and water-resistant, and can be sanded for priming and painting. It can also be sprayed into a rubber mold to make fast, impact-resistant castings, with the application of a release agent if necessary. It is used in theme design, movie set environments, and industrial applications.

Instructions

Safety

Store and use at room temperature (23°C/73°F). These products have a limited shelf life and should be used as soon as possible. Keep environmental humidity low and ensure good room ventilation. Wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves to minimize contamination risk. Use an independent air-supplied hood or NIOSH-approved breathing mask during spraying.

Application

Do not attempt to spray rubber or plastic without first reading the EZ~Spray™ Junior Manual.

Applying A Release Agent

A release agent is necessary for demolding when spraying into a rubber mold. Use a release agent made specifically for mold making. Apply a liberal coat onto all surfaces that will contact the plastic. Lightly brush the release agent with a soft brush over all surfaces, then follow with a light mist coating and let it dry for 30 minutes.

Spraying

After loading and preparing the material cartridge, depress the trigger and begin spraying. Apply a thin first coat, moving quickly. Spray undercuts and recesses first. Wait two minutes between the first and second coats. Spray bottom edges with many thin coats to avoid drips and voids. Work from bottom to top and increase the pressure for heavier coats.

Storage

Shelf life is reduced after opening. Use remaining product as soon as possible. Replace lids immediately after dispensing to prolong shelf life. Using a dry gas blanket will significantly prolong the shelf life of unused liquid product.

Rate of Coverage

Each cartridge contains 1.7 kg (3.75 lbs) of material. At a thickness of 0.25 cm (0.1 inches), one cartridge will cover approximately 0.6 square meters (6.43 sq. ft.).

Curing

The plastic will harden immediately and can be handled in about one hour, depending on mass and configuration.

Performance

Cured plastic is rigid and durable, resisting moisture, moderate heat, solvents, and dilute acids. It can be sanded, machined, primed, painted, or bonded to other surfaces. If sanding or machining, wear a dust mask to prevent inhalation of particles. Unpainted castings will yellow when exposed to UV light.
