Description
This 600 g/m² multi-axial fiberglass mat is designed for creating strong, lightweight, and dimensionally stable composite laminates. It features multiple layers of unidirectional fibers oriented at 0°, +45°, –45°, and sometimes 90°, stitched together to form a balanced, crimp-free structure.
Features
- Enhances tensile strength, stiffness, and impact resistance
- Reduces resin pooling and print-through for cleaner finishes
- Compatible with polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy resins
- Efficient in hand lay-up and resin injection or infusion techniques
- Excellent drape and stability for large surfaces and curved molds
Common applications include marine hulls, automotive parts, structural panels, molds, and repair work. It offers reliable wet-out, reduced fabrication time, and superior laminate quality.
Instructions
Cut the 600 g/m² fabric to the required size before preparing the resin system. Place the fabric onto a clean mold or prepared surface, ensuring the fiber orientation matches the desired structural strength and load direction.
- Mix polyester, vinyl ester, or epoxy resin according to the manufacturer’s recommended ratio.
- Apply the resin evenly using a brush, roller, or infusion process until the fabric is completely saturated.
- Use a laminating roller to remove trapped air and improve consolidation between layers.
- Additional reinforcement fabrics or core materials can be added to achieve the required stiffness and thickness.
- Allow the laminate to cure fully before demolding, trimming, sanding, or finishing.
Always wear gloves, eye protection, and a respirator when handling fiberglass and resins.
