Description
This high-density, flexible polyurethane expanding foam is designed for applications requiring enhanced strength, durability, and impact resistance while maintaining flexibility.
With a density of approximately 272 kg/m³ (17 lb/ft³), it produces a tougher, more load-bearing foam than lower-density grades, making it suitable for professional prop making, special effects, industrial cushioning, structural void filling, and protective components.
FlexFoam-iT!™ 17 mixes at a 1A:1B ratio by volume (approximately 100A:90B by weight), facilitating straightforward and repeatable processing.
Once combined, the material offers a pot life of about 60 seconds, requiring efficient mixing and pouring, but enabling fast production cycles.
The foam expands to roughly 3.5 times its original liquid volume, filling molds and cavities evenly while maintaining a controlled cell structure.
Parts reach a handling time of around 60 minutes, after which they can be safely demolded, trimmed, or further assembled without deformation.
Full cure is typically achieved in about 4 hours, at which point the foam reaches its final physical properties.
The foam cures to a white, resilient form that can be cut, sanded, drilled, or painted, and it accepts common colorants if pigmentation is required.
Its higher density provides improved tear resistance, compression strength, and long-term durability compared to lighter foams, making it suitable for rugged props, repeated-use padding, ergonomic supports, and semi-structural elements where reliability and toughness are critical.
