Description
This fire-retardant, flexible urethane expanding foam is designed for applications requiring both flexibility and enhanced fire safety.
With a foam density of approximately 112 kg/m³ (7 lb/ft³), it combines a soft feel with flame resistance, making it suitable for environments where fire safety is a concern.
FlexFoam-iT!™ 7 FR mixes at a 1A:1B ratio by volume (approximately 100A:120B by weight), ensuring consistent and reliable processing.
After mixing, the foam offers a working time of approximately 45–60 seconds, providing enough time for thorough mixing and pouring before it begins to expand.
FlexFoam-iT!™ 7 FR expands to roughly 8 times its original liquid volume, filling molds or cavities with a smooth, even foam structure.
Once poured, the foam reaches a handling time of approximately 60 minutes, allowing easy demolding or trimming without damaging it. Full cure typically takes about 4 hours, achieving final flexibility and fire-resistant properties.
The cured foam is typically white in color and can be cut, shaped, or painted. It is also compatible with colorants if pigmentation is required.
This foam is used in a variety of special effects, props, theatrical set pieces, and cushioning applications where flame resistance is required. Its combination of soft feel, high expansion ratio, and fire-retardant properties makes it a preferred choice for fire-sensitive environments.
