Description

This low-density rigid polyurethane expanding foam is designed for lightweight structural fills requiring a black color for visibility or aesthetic purposes. With a density of approximately 64 kg/m³ (4 lb/ft³), it balances minimal weight with enhanced rigidity, making it suitable for scenic, industrial, and prototyping applications.

Features

  • Mixes at a 1A : 1B ratio by volume for simple and consistent processing
  • Pot life of 45–60 seconds allows for prompt mixing and pouring
  • Expands to about 14 times its original liquid volume
  • Demold time of 15–20 minutes for fast production cycles
  • Full cure in 1–2 hours, becoming rigid and dimensionally stable
  • Black throughout, providing low water absorption and good thermal insulation
  • Can be cut, carved, sanded, drilled, or shaped
  • Accepts paints, coatings, epoxy skins, fiberglass, and urethane surface treatments

Widely used for scenic and theatrical set pieces, props, architectural elements, flotation components, mock-ups, and void filling where lightweight construction, rapid processing, and visual contrast are important.

Instructions

  • Mix at a 1A:1B ratio by volume until uniform. 
  • Pour within approximately 45–60 seconds working time. 
  • The foam expands about 14 times, so allow space in the mold. 
  • Do not disturb during rise. 
  • Demold after approximately 15–20 minutes. 
  • Full cure in about 1–2 hours.

Usage Tips

  • Use clean, dry molds and release agent if needed
  • Foam can be cut, carved, or sanded after cure
  • Wear gloves, avoid moisture, and ensure good ventilation
