Description

This versatile epoxy putty is designed for creating lightweight, detailed castings and support shells. It can be pressed into molds and applied to various surfaces, including polystyrene foam, for rough sculpting. It is effective for epoxy laminating by placing it between layers of EpoxAmite™ Laminating Epoxy and fiberglass or other fibers, eliminating the need for multiple liquid epoxy layers, saving time and labor.

Suitable for epoxy tooling applications, such as filleting, jig, and fixture construction, it serves as a lightweight adhesive, bonding to itself and surfaces like wood, stone, and EpoxAcoat™ surface coat epoxy. It can even cure underwater.

Pot Life and Curing Times

  • Thickness: 3.81 cm - Pot life: 30 minutes, Handling time: 2.5 hours, Full cure: 24 hours
  • Thickness: 0.95 cm - Pot life: 60 minutes, Handling time: 4 hours, Full cure: 24 hours
  • Thickness: 0.32 cm - Pot life: 120 minutes, Handling time: 8 hours, Full cure: 24 hours

Note: The material is mass-sensitive. Mixing larger quantities reduces working time. To extend pot life, flatten the putty with a rolling pin to reduce mass concentration.

Instructions

  • Mix parts thoroughly until a uniform color is achieved.
  • Apply to clean, dry surfaces or press into molds.
  • Working time varies by thickness (approximately 30–120 minutes); larger masses cure faster.
  • Shape as needed and press firmly for adhesion.
  • Avoid disturbing during cure.
  • Handling time ranges from about 2.5 to 8 hours, with full cure in 24 hours.
  • For longer working time, spread material thin
  • Once cured, it can be sanded, carved, or painted.
  • Wear gloves and ensure proper ventilation during use.
