Description

This epoxy putty is certified flame resistant (E84, Class A) and is used to create semi-rigid, tough display elements. It is solvent-free and contains no VOCs. The working time is 90 minutes, and the handling time is 24 hours at room temperature (23°C). The cured epoxy offers flexibility with excellent impact and abrasion resistance.

It bonds permanently to various surfaces such as foam, steel, wood, PVC, ABS plastic, and concrete. It withstands freeze/thaw cycles for exterior applications. It can be painted with acrylic paints or stains and is suitable for creating detailed elements for zoos and amusement parks. The semi-rigid nature allows reptiles and birds to grip comfortably.

Mix equal parts A and B and apply. For thickening, add Folding Powder™ which will also reduce stickiness and improve handling. The putty can be stamped with silicone rubber stamps for detailed patterns. The surface can be smoothed with alcohol or water. New applications will bond to cured material without delamination.

5-Gallon (45.36 kg)  3.6 kg
Drum (498.96 kg)  25 kg

Preparation

Store and use materials at room temperature (23°C). Use as soon as possible due to the limited shelf life. Mix in a well-ventilated area. Apply Folding Powder™ to work surfaces and gloves to prevent sticking. Conduct a small test application if performance is in question.

Applying A Release Agent

For surfaces where adhesion is not desired, apply Ease Release™ 200 release agent.

Measuring

Dispense equal amounts of Part A and Part B. Use as soon as possible due to limited shelf life.

Mixing

Mix by hand using vinyl or nitrile gloves. Without Folding Powder, stir equal parts A and B until uniform in color. With Folding Powder, coat gloves to prevent sticking, then knead parts A+B with powder until desired consistency is reached.

Curing

Material can be handled after 24 hours at room temperature. Full properties develop in 7 days. Material may remain slightly tacky for up to 48 hours.

Painting

Prime and paint with acrylic enamel paints. Allow paint to dry fully before use.

Removing Uncured Material

Remove as much uncured material as possible. Clean residue with soap and water. Optionally, use E-POX-EE KLEENER™.
