Jesmonite flatrods are specially shaped mixing tools that help you achieve perfectly smooth and consistent Jesmonite mixtures. Their flat, rigid profile allows users to scrape along the sides and bottom of a mixing container, breaking up dry pockets and distributing powders, liquids, and pigments evenly throughout the blend. This improves surface quality, strength, and curing performance while reducing air bubbles and inconsistencies. Ideal for small to medium batch sizes. Flatrods make manual mixing more controlled, efficient, and clean—delivering reliable results across casting, laminating, and coating projects.

Instructions

Add the required Jesmonite liquid and base to a clean mixing container.
Use the flatrod to mix thoroughly, scraping along the sides and bottom of the container to incorporate all material and eliminate dry pockets.
Stir steadily until the mixture becomes smooth and uniform.
Continue scraping and folding the mix to ensure pigments and additives are evenly distributed.
Once fully blended, proceed to pour or apply the Jesmonite mixture.
Clean the flatrod with water before the material cures.
