Description
This urethane mold rubber is designed for creating flexible and durable molds suitable for repeated casting.
With a Shore A40 hardness, KX Flex™ 40 balances elasticity and strength, facilitating easy demolding while retaining shape and surface detail.
This makes it suitable for both simple and moderately complex mold geometries.
Features
- 1A:1B mix ratio by volume for accurate measurement and consistent results
- Approximately 25 minutes of working time for thorough mixing and careful pouring
- Cures in about 16 hours at room temperature, achieving full mechanical properties
- Commonly used for molds intended for plaster, gypsum, concrete, and various resin systems
- Flexibility allows for easy release of cast parts
- Durability supports multiple production cycles without rapid wear
- Reproduces fine surface details and maintains clean edges over repeated use
- Can be poured as a solid mold or thickened for brush-on applications
- Compatible with standard mold release agents and can be pigmented for easy identification
Instructions
Mix at a 1A:1B ratio by volume until uniform. Pour onto clean, prepared surfaces or molds.
Steps
- Working time is approximately 25 minutes.
- Degas if needed, then pour slowly to reduce bubbles.
- Do not disturb during cure.
- Allow approximately 16 hours to fully cure at room temperature.
- Use mold release if required.
- Once cured, the mold is ready for casting.
Safety
- Wear gloves and ensure proper ventilation.
