Description

This retarder is essential for managing the set times of Matrix Dryve™ and Matrix™ NEO polymer modified gypsum systems, particularly in warm environments. It is prepared as a concentrated solution by mixing 5g of retarder with 240g of water, allowing precise adjustment of the material's open time. This is particularly beneficial for large-scale projects requiring seamless blending of multiple batches or for hand lay-up techniques with detailed fiberglass reinforcement.

  • Incorporate 2% to 4% by weight to extend demold time to 150 minutes while maintaining structural integrity.
  • Prevents cold joints in large architectural panels.
  • Achieves a smooth, air-bubble-free finish during vacuum degassing.

Instructions

How to Use

  1. Prepare the Solution: Mix 5g of retarder into 240g of room temperature water. Stir until fully dissolved. Store in a sealed container for future use.
  2. Primary Mix: Combine Matrix Dryve™ powder and water. Drill-mix for 1 minute until creamy and lump-free.
  3. Incorporate Retarder: Add the pre-mixed retarder solution to the batch while the drill is running.
  4. For 60 min pot life: Use 2% of the total powder weight.
  5. For 105 min pot life: Use 4% of the total powder weight.
  6. Finalize: Mix for an additional 30 seconds. Avoid over-mixing to prevent counteracting the retarder's effects.
