Description

This tin-cured silicone rubber compound is known for its exceptional working properties and long library life.

Mold Max™ 30 features an exclusive catalyst and can be pigmented with silicone colorants.

Working time for these pourable silicones is 45 minutes, and they cure overnight at room temperature.

Vacuum degassing is recommended to remove entrapped air.

Features

Reproduces the finest detail.
Suitable for industrial and art applications, including molds for prototypes, furniture, sculpture, and architectural elements.
Can be thickened for brush-on applications.
Can cast materials such as wax, gypsum, low melt alloys/metals, and urethane, epoxy, or polyester resins without a release agent.

Instructions

Safety

Use in a properly ventilated area.
Wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves (vinyl gloves only).
Store and use material at room temperature (23°C).

Measuring & Mixing

Pre-mix Part B thoroughly.
Weigh Part A & B using a gram scale.
Mix for 3 minutes, scraping sides and bottom.
Vacuum degassing is recommended.

Pouring / Curing / Post Curing

Pour mixture in a single spot at the lowest point.
Allow mold to cure overnight (at least 16 hrs) at room temperature.
Post cure for 4 hours at 65°C if necessary.

Thickening for Brush-on Application

Use a thickener for vertical surfaces.
Apply a thin coat, wait for tackiness, then apply the next coat.
Final mold thickness should be at least 1 cm (3/8 in).

Accelerating Cure Time

Use an accelerator to reduce demold time to as little as 30 minutes.

Thinning

Use a thinner to lower viscosity and increase pot life.

Mold Performance & Storage

Clean mold with soap solution before storage.
Store on a level surface in a cool, dry environment.
