Description

OOMOO™ 30 is a silicone rubber compound that is easy to use with a one-to-one mix ratio by volume, eliminating the need for scales.

It features low viscosity, making it easy to mix and pour without requiring vacuum degassing.

OOMOO™ 30 cures at room temperature with minimal shrinkage.

OOMOO™ 30 is suitable for making simple one- or two-piece block molds, particularly for sculpture and prototype reproduction, casting plaster, resins, and wax.

OOMOO™ 30 can also be used for electrical potting and encapsulation applications.

Instructions

Safety

Use in a well-ventilated area. Wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and vinyl gloves.

N.B. use vinyl gloves only, as latex gloves will inhibit curing.

Storage and Use

Store and use at room temperature (23°C). Warmer temperatures reduce working and cure time.

Storing at cooler temperatures will extend the shelf life.

Cure Inhibition

Silicone rubber may be inhibited by contaminants, resulting in tackiness or lack of cure.

Test compatibility on a small area.

Materials like sulfur-based clays and latex rubber can cause inhibition.

Apply a sealing agent or clear acrylic lacquer to prevent this.

Applying A Release Agent

The use of a release agent is usually not necessary, but will help with the ease of demolding. Use Ease Release™ 200. Spray the object once, then brush lightly over the surface, spry once more lightly and let dry for 30 minutes.

Test on an identical surface if unsure.

Measuring & Mixing

Premix Parts A and B. Mix equal amounts for 3 minutes, repeatedly scraping sides and bottom of the mixing cup. Ensure a uniform color without streaks.

Pouring

Pour mixture at the lowest point of the enclosure. Allow rubber to level over the model, ensuring a uniform flow to minimize air entrapment. Liquid rubber should cover at least 1.3 cm (1/2") over the model's highest point.

Curing

Allow to cure for 6 hours at room temperature before demolding.

Post-cure for 4 hours at 65°C to eliminate residual moisture and alcohol. Cool to room temperature before use. Do not cure below 18°C.

Using The Mold

No release agent is needed for wax or gypsum casting.

Use Ease Release™ 200 for polyurethane, polyester, and epoxy resins to prevent sticking and degradation.

Spray the object once, then brush lightly over the surface, spry once more lightly and let dry for 30 minutes.

Test on an identical surface if unsure.

Mold Performance & Storage

Mold life depends on use. Abrasive materials like concrete erode detail quickly. Clean molds with soap solution and dry before storage. Assemble multi-part molds and store on a level surface in a cool, dry place.
