PlatSil® Acellerator

PlatSil® Gel-10 is a versatile silicone system used in top films for creating realistic prosthetic effects. It features a 1:1 mix ratio, 6-minute working time, and 30-minute demold time. Add Smith's Deadener for ultra-realistic results. Modify properties with various additives for different applications.

PlatSil Gel-OO is a platinum-cured silicone with a Shore OO-30 hardness, ideal for prosthetic applications. It features a 1:1 mix ratio, 6-minute working time, and 30-minute demold time. It can be modified with Thivex, PlatSil 71/73 Part R, or Deadener to adjust thickness, working time, or softness.

PlatSil® 0020 is a platinum silicone rubber ideal for prosthetics and special effects. With a Shore hardness of 20A, it creates soft, durable molds that capture fine details. It offers a 20-minute working time and cures in 6-8 hours, making it suitable for detailed, lifelike applications.

PlatSil Retarder 71 & 73 R is used to extend the working time of platinum-based silicone rubbers. Add approximately 1% to Part A to double the working time, or 2% to triple it. Do not exceed 3% to avoid curing issues.

PlatSil Part H Hardener enhances the Shore Hardness of PlatSil Gels and extends working and demold times. For Gel 00, a 1A:1B:1H mix results in Shore A10 hardness. Gel 10 achieves Shore A20, and Gel 25 reaches Shore A40 with a 7-minute working time and under 2-hour cure.

PlatSil® 71/73 Part X Accelerator reduces pour and demould times for PlatSil® products. Adding 1% Part X cuts pour time to about 1/3, 2% to 1/4, and 3% to 1/6 of the normal time. Always test a small batch first. Mix Part X with Part B before combining with Part A. Refer to the Technical Bulletin for more details.

PlatSil® FS-20 is a fast-setting, two-part silicone rubber with a 1A:1B mix ratio. It cures to a Shore OO66/A20 hardness in about 25 minutes and has an 8-minute pour time. Ideal for quick mold making, it can be accelerated with heat. Beware of cure inhibition from sulfur, amines, and certain compounds.

Deadener LV softens PlatSil Gel without oil leaching. Mix with Part A before adding Part B. Add up to 300% of the total weight of A + B. Demold times vary: 1 hour for 1A:1B:0D, 0.5 hour for 1A:1B:0.25D, 1A:1B:0.5D, 1A:1B:1D, and 1A:1B:2D. Shore hardness ranges from A25 to 00035.

PlatSil Gel 25 is a platinum silicone rubber ideal for prosthetics and special effects. With a Shore hardness of 25A, it offers flexibility and tear resistance. It has a 20-minute working time and cures in 6-8 hours. Non-toxic and low-odor, it supports realistic skin textures and coloration.

Smith's Theatrical Prosthetic Deadener is essential for softening PlatSil Gel 10 to mimic flesh-like movement. Add up to 200% deadener for desired softness, typically 175% for facial prosthetics. Ensure encapsulation with Super Baldiez or PlatSil Gel 10 before pouring to manage stickiness.
