Directions for Use – Royal JeL-E
Pour a small amount of Royal JeL-E into a container. Using a soft brush, apply a thin, even coat to the silicone mold, creating a uniform film over the entire surface. Use a hairdryer to speed up drying. As you brush, the product will turn matte and the brush will begin to drag slightly, indicating proper coverage. Ensure no areas are missed. Apply a second coat if needed. Once the Royal JeL-E film has set, carefully brush in or pour your silicone. Allow to fully cure, then remove the silicone piece and rinse under warm water to remove the film. The surface will be clean and ready for painting.
Floating Clay Sculptures from a Plaster Lifecast
Royal JeL-E performs best on clean, dry plaster (stone) lifecasts. Do not seal the surface. Brush on a liberal coat of Royal JeL-E, working it well into the texture. Dry with a hairdryer, then apply a second coat. If the surface feels dry, apply a third coat. Once dry, apply clay and sculpt as normal. When the sculpture is complete, cut your clay into sections as desired. Place the lifecast and clay into a water bath and allow to soak for several hours. The Royal JeL-E will liquefy, releasing the clay from the lifecast. Gently lift the clay pieces away.
