This low viscosity casting resin offers superior physical and performance properties.
TASK™ 3 features a convenient 1A:1B by volume (115A:100B by weight) mix ratio and does not require vacuum degassing.
This resin is white with high tensile and flexural strength, and a high flexural modulus.
TASK™ 3 is suitable for industrial applications like pattern making and prototype model creation. Designed for casting up to 1.27 cm (½ inch) thick, it is available in various sizes.
Store and use materials in a warm environment at 23°C (73°F). These products have a limited shelf life and should be used promptly. All liquid urethanes are moisture sensitive. Use clean mixing tools and metal, glass, or plastic containers. Ensure a well-ventilated area and wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves.
Conduct a small test application to determine suitability if performance is in question.
For surface compatibility, conduct a trial casting on a surface with a similar finish. Dry polyurethane, latex, or metal molds require a suitable release agent. Apply a liberal coat of release agent, brush lightly for thorough coverage, and let dry for 30 minutes.
The mixing ratio is 1A:1B by volume or 115A:100B by weight. Dispense Part A into a mixing container, then add Part B.
Store and use materials at 23°C. Shake Part A & Part B before use. Mix thoroughly, scraping the sides and bottom of the container. Avoid splashing. The product sets quickly, so do not delay between mixing and pouring.
Vacuum degassing is not required. If chosen, subject the mixture to 29 h.i.g. mercury in a vacuum chamber until it rises, breaks, and falls. Allow for 3 to 4 times volume expansion.
Pour the mixture at the lowest point of the mold to minimize air entrapment.
Use a pressure casting technique. Place the casting assembly in a pressure chamber at 4.2 kg/cm² for the full cure time.
Ensure adequate ventilation and avoid inhaling fumes. Let castings cool to room temperature before handling. Demold time depends on mass and mold configuration. For rotational or hollow castings, backfill with rigid foam for reinforcement.
Post-curing accelerates full cure and enhances properties. Cure at room temperature, then for 4-8 hours at 65-72°C. Allow to cool before handling.
Cured castings are rigid, durable, and resist moisture, moderate heat, and solvents. They can be machined, primed/painted, or bonded to other surfaces. Use a dust mask when machining. Suitable for outdoor display after priming and painting.
