This casting resin is designed for industrial applications, offering high tensile and flexural strength with a high flexural modulus.
TASK™ 6 is suitable for casting up to 1.27 cm (½ inch) thick without vacuum degassing, featuring a 1A:1B mix ratio by volume or weight.
Cured castings are rigid and durable, resisting moisture, moderate heat, solvents, and dilute acids.
They can be machined, primed/painted, or bonded to other surfaces and displayed outdoors after priming and painting.
Store and use materials in a warm environment at 23°C. Use as soon as possible due to limited shelf life. Liquid urethanes are moisture sensitive. Use clean metal, glass, or plastic tools and containers.
Ensure a well-ventilated area and wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves.
Apply a release agent for demolding. Use a mold-specific release agent, applying a liberal coat and brushing with a soft brush. Follow with a light mist coating and let dry for 30 minutes. Silicone rubber molds usually do not require a release agent unless casting silicone into the mold.
Mixing ratio is 1A:1B by weight or volume. Dispense Part A into a container, measure Part B, and combine. Shake or stir both parts before use. Mix thoroughly, scraping sides and bottom of the container. Avoid splashing. If tinting, add tint to Part B before mixing with Part A.
Replace lids immediately after use to prolong shelf life. Use XTEND-IT™ Dry Gas Blanket to extend shelf life.
Pour mixture into a rubber mold at the lowest point. For encapsulating objects, let the mixture seek its level to minimize air entrapment.
Use pressure casting at 4.2 kg/cm² for 16 hours after pouring for best results.
Ensure adequate ventilation and avoid inhaling fumes. Let castings cool to room temperature before handling. Demold time varies with mass and mold configuration. Use rigid foam backfilling for lightweight reinforcement if exposed to temperatures above 30°C (85°F).
Post curing accelerates full cure and enhances properties. Cure for 6-8 hours at room temperature, then 16 hours at 65-72°C. Allow to cool before handling. For thin castings, heat post cure. For thickness over 7.62 cm (3 inches), use consecutive casts with 30-minute intervals for heat dissipation.
