Description

This low viscosity, fast-setting casting resin meets UL 94 V-O flame resistance standards.

TASK™ 7 is free from mercury, TDI, and MOCA. The mix ratio is 1A:1B by volume, with a Working time of 4.5 minutes and a demold time of 10 minutes at 23°C, depending on mass.

Once fully cured, the material is tough, durable, machinable, and paintable, offering superior physical and performance properties compared to other flame-rated urethanes.

Vibrant colors and effects can be achieved by adding SO-Strong™ color tints.

Instructions

Storage and Handling

Store and use materials in a warm environment (23°C). The product has a limited shelf life and should be used promptly. All liquid urethanes are moisture sensitive. Use clean metal, glass, or plastic mixing tools and containers. Mix in a well-ventilated area. Wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves to minimize contamination risk.

Mixing Instructions

Pre-mix Parts A and B before dispensing. The proper mixing ratio is 1 Part A to 1 Part B by volume. Dispense equal amounts into a mixing container. If tinting or pigmenting, add color to Part B and mix thoroughly before adding Part A. Stir deliberately, scraping the sides and bottom of the container several times. Avoid splashing the low viscosity material out of the container.

Pouring and Curing

When casting into a rubber mold, pour the mixture at the lowest point of the mold. For encapsulating objects, do not pour directly over the object. Allow the mixture to level naturally. A uniform flow minimizes entrapped air. Best results are obtained using a pressure casting technique. After pouring, place the entire casting assembly in a pressure chamber and apply 4.2 kg/cm² air pressure for 1 hour.

Post Curing

Post curing is recommended for thin or low mass castings. Cure in a mold or support structure for 1 hour at room temperature, followed by 2 hours at 65 - 72°C. Allow the casting to cool to room temperature before handling.

Safety and Precautions

Use with at least room size ventilation or near a forced outlet air vent.

Do not inhale fumes. Fumes dissipate quickly with adequate ventilation.

Castings with significant mass may be hot and irritate skin immediately after curing. Allow castings to cool before handling.

Apply a release agent to facilitate demolding when casting into or over most surfaces. Use a release agent specifically for mold making, such as Universal™ Mold Release or Mann’s Ease Release™ 200. Apply a liberal coat of release agent on all surfaces that will contact the plastic. Ensure thorough coverage by brushing with a soft brush, followed by a light mist coating. Let the release agent dry for 30 minutes.
