EpoxAcoat™ NEUTRAL

Description

This thixotropic epoxy resin is designed for creating hard, durable surfaces in composite tooling, molds, master patterns, and fixtures. 

EpoxAcoat™ NEUTRAL serves as a surface or gel coat layer, typically reinforced with fiberglass or other fabrics using compatible laminating epoxies. 

The neutral off-white color is suitable for applications requiring a light base or custom pigmentation.

Instructions

• Use in a well-ventilated area and avoid inhaling fumes. A NIOSH-approved respirator is recommended.
• Wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves.
• Store and use at room temperature (23°C). Elevated temperatures reduce pot life.
• Do not mix in glass or foam containers and do not apply thicker than 3.2 mm due to exothermic reaction.
• Measure Parts A and B accurately by volume or weight and mix thoroughly for at least 3 minutes, scraping sides and bottom.
• Pour into a shallow pan to extend pot life if needed.
• For nonporous molds, apply a suitable release agent.
• Apply two thin coats with a brush, allowing each layer to reach a “tacky-hard” stage before applying the next.
• Reinforce with fiberglass and compatible epoxy systems if required.
• Cure at 23°C until fully hard, then sand or machine with a dust mask.
• Mild heat may be used to accelerate cure; allow to cool before handling.
• Clean uncured epoxy with approved solvents using proper ventilation.
