Description

This semi-rigid urethane resin offers extraordinary handling strength and impact resistance. 

Castings are tough and durable, suitable for prototyping, high-impact parts, and tools. 

TASK™ 12 can be color-pigmented or filled for various industrial applications.

Instructions

Storage and Handling: Store and use materials in a warm environment (23°C). These products are moisture sensitive. Use clean metal, glass, or plastic mixing tools and containers. Ensure a well-ventilated area and wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves.

Safety: CAUTION: NOT FOR HOME USE. FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. Adequate ventilation is required. Use respiratory protection if necessary. Wear protective clothing to minimize dermal sensitization risk. If breathing issues or rashes occur, stop use and seek medical attention. Read SDS before using.

Applying A Release Agent: Use a mold release agent for demolding. Apply a liberal coat and brush with a soft brush. Follow with a light mist coating and let dry for 30 minutes. Silicone rubber molds may not require a release agent unless casting silicone.

Measuring: Use an accurate scale to weigh 100 parts of Part A and 44 parts of Part B. Dispense Part A into a mixing container, then add Part B.

Mixing: Stir Part B well before use. Mix thoroughly for 90 seconds, scraping the sides and bottom of the container. Replace lids immediately after use to prolong shelf life. Use XTEND-IT™ Dry Gas Blanket to extend shelf life.

Vacuuming: Vacuum degassing is optional. If used, subject mixture to 29 h.i.g. mercury until it rises, breaks, and falls. Allow for 3 to 4 times volume expansion.

Pouring: Pour mixture at the lowest point of the mold to minimize air entrapment.

For Best Results: Use pressure casting technique, subjecting the assembly to 4.2 kg/cm² for the full cure time.

Curing: Ensure adequate ventilation. Let castings cool to room temperature before handling. Demold time depends on mass and configuration. Foam backfilling is recommended for high-temperature exposure.

Post Curing: For full cure, allow 16 hours at room temperature, followed by 4-8 hours at 65-72°C. Let cool before handling.

Performance: Cured castings are rigid, durable, and resist moisture, moderate heat, and solvents. They can be machined, primed, painted, or bonded. Wear a dust mask when machining.
