Instructions

Safety

Store and use at room temperature (23°C). These products have a limited shelf life and should be used as soon as possible.

Keep environmental humidity low.

Ensure good room ventilation. Wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves. Use a NIOSH approved respirator to minimize inhalation of fumes.

Use in a low humidity environment (below 50% RH).

Mixing and Measuring

Liquid urethanes are moisture sensitive and will absorb atmospheric moisture.

Use clean metal or plastic mixing tools and containers. Store and use materials in a warm environment (23°C).

Stir or shake Part B thoroughly before dispensing.

The mixing ratio is 100A:90B by weight. Use an accurate digital gram scale to weigh Parts A and B.

Do not use an analog scale or measure by volume.

Dispense Part A into a mixing container, weigh Part B, and combine with Part A.

Mix slowly and thoroughly for at least 90 seconds, scraping the sides and bottom of the container.

If coloring or filling, add filler or pigment dispersion to Part B and mix thoroughly before adding Part A.

Pouring and Curing

If casting into a rubber mold, pour the mixture in a single spot at the lowest point of the mold.

If encapsulating an object, do not pour directly over the object. Let the mixture level itself. For best results, use pressure casting to eliminate bubbles.

After pouring, place the casting assembly in a pressure chamber at 60 PSI (4.2 kg/cm²) for the full cure time before heat curing.

Castings reach ultimate physical properties at room temperature in 7 days.

If removed from the mold early, a tacky surface can be eliminated by exposing the casting to 65°C for 6 hours.

Working time and cure time depend on mass concentration and mold configuration.

Post Curing

For maximum physical properties, better heat, and UV resistance, post-curing is recommended for thin or low mass concentration castings.

Post cure in a mold or support structure.

Allow the material to cure fully at room temperature, then post-cure for 6 hours at 65°C–72°C.

Allow the casting to cool to room temperature before demolding.

Storage

Shelf life is reduced after opening. Use remaining product as soon as possible. Replace lids immediately after dispensing to prolong shelf life.

XTEND-IT™ Dry Gas Blanket can significantly prolong the shelf life of unused liquid urethane products.

Warnings

CAUTION: NOT FOR HOME USE. FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. With adequate local exhaust ventilation, respiratory protection is not normally required. If risk assessment shows air-purifying respirators are appropriate, follow OSHA and European Standards. Protective clothing is required to minimize dermal sensitization risk. If breathing is affected or a rash develops, cease use and seek medical attention.

Read SDS before using.
