Description

This Shore 80A polyurethane rubber is designed for durable mold making and industrial components. It balances performance and cost-efficiency.

This is a more affordable and faster-curing option than our well-known PMC™-780. Its physical properties are lower than those of PMC™-780. The system is odorless, has a 1A:1B mixing ratio, and a low viscosity that allows for easy mixing and pouring. The working time at room temperature is approximately 13 minutes, with a handling time of 6 hours, and the rubber cures overnight. Econ™ 80 is translucent and can be easily tinted using SO-Strong™ or Ignite™ colorants. It is commonly used for producing short-run molds for casting concrete and resins, concrete stamping pads, rubber mechanical components, fabric coatings, pour-in-place gaskets for industrial machinery, and burial vaults. Important: To reduce air bubbles in the cured rubber, vacuum degassing is advised.

Features

  • 1A:1B mix ratio by volume
  • Low viscosity for easy mixing and pouring
  • Approximately 13-minute working time at room temperature
  • Handling time of about 6 hours
  • Full cure overnight
  • Minimal shrinkage for dimensional accuracy
  • Translucent in natural state, easily tinted with SO-Strong™ or Ignite™ colorants
  • Durable for short-run production molds, concrete stamping pads, and industrial applications

It captures fine detail without requiring vacuum degassing in most cases, making it suitable for both professional and hobbyist fabrication work.

Instructions

Mix at a 1A:1B ratio by volume until uniform. Pour onto clean, dry surfaces. The low viscosity helps reduce bubbles without the need for degassing.

Application

  • Working time is approximately 13 minutes.
  • Allow about 6 hours for handling strength.
  • Full cure occurs overnight to Shore 80A hardness.
  • Do not disturb during curing.
  • Material can be tinted before pouring.

Safety

  • Use gloves and ensure proper ventilation during use.
