Description

This water-white translucent tin-cured silicone rubber compound offers exceptional tear strength and working properties.

Mold Max™ 15T features a catalyst for long library life and is mixed at a ratio of 100A:10B by weight.

Vacuum degassing is recommended for de-airing, and the rubber cures overnight at room temperature.

Mold Max™ 15T can be thickened for brush-on applications.

Use Cases

Ideal for creating molds for replica props and animatronic skin effects. Can be colored using silicone pigments or effects powders.

Instructions

Weigh Part A & B components using a gram scale for accuracy. Avoid using for molds with certain urethanes. Test for suitability if unsure.

Safety

Use in a well-ventilated area. Wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and vinyl gloves. Avoid latex gloves as they inhibit curing.

Storage

Store at room temperature (23°C). Warmer storage reduces shelf life. Use as soon as possible.

Applying a Sealer / Release Agent

Test for inhibition with sulfur-based clays. Use a barrier coat of clear acrylic lacquer if needed. A release agent can ease demolding.

Measuring & Mixing

Pre-mix Part B to re-disperse pigments. Mix parts A and B for 3 minutes, scraping sides and bottom. Vacuum degassing is recommended.

Pouring / Curing / Post Curing

Pour mixture at the lowest point of the containment field. Allow to cure overnight at room temperature. Post cure for 4 hours at 65°C if needed.

Thickening for Brush-on Application

Use THI-VEX™ to thicken for vertical applications. Apply in thin coats, allowing each to become tacky before the next.

Accelerating Cure Time

Use Accel-T™ to accelerate cure time. Note that working time is reduced proportionally.

Thinning

Silicone Thinner™ reduces viscosity and increases pot life but may reduce tear and tensile strength.

Mold Performance & Storage

Physical life depends on use. Clean molds with soap solution before storage. Store on a level surface in a cool, dry place.
