Description

This UV-resistant acrylic co-polymer is designed for glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) production. It enhances resistance to UV rays and the high pH of Portland cement.

Forton™ VF-774 is an all-acrylic, co-polymer dispersion (51% solids) specifically formulated for the GFRC production process. VF-774 is UV stable. It is further formulated to be stable and durable in the high pH Portland cement-based GFRC composite. Forton® VF-774 is the worldwide standard concrete additive for making lightweight GFRC, Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete, panels. It is recognized by the PCI as the only polymer supported with a 20-year durability study.

Applications

  • Concrete facade panels
  • Concrete tables and countertops
  • Concrete garden furniture

Benefits

  • Eliminates the need for a seven-day post-treatment to achieve maximum strength.
  • Creates a denser cured product, reducing water absorption and moisture penetration.
  • Prevents micro-cracks by forming flexible polymer bridges between cement particles and sand grains.
  • Enhances long-term durability and ductility, maintaining bending stress properties over time.
  • Complies with PCI MNL-130 Annex G, ensuring quality control in GFRC products.
  • Improves workability with low water-cement ratios and strengthens the cement matrix.
  • Facilitates easy spraying on vertical surfaces without sagging.
  • Enhances dispersion of iron oxide dyes for consistent coloring across batches.
  • UV resistant to prevent surface discoloration.

Shelf Life: Store in original packaging in a dry, frost-free place for at least 6 months post-production.

Instructions

This full acrylic co-polymer dispersion is developed specifically for glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) production. It resists the high alkaline pH of Portland cement and is UV resistant, making it suitable for exterior architectural elements such as concrete façade panels, countertops, tables, and garden furniture. When incorporated into approved GFRC mix designs, it improves workability, strength development, and long-term durability of the composite.

The polymer modifies the cement matrix, producing a denser cured structure that reduces water absorption and moisture penetration. It helps prevent micro-cracks and crack propagation by forming flexible polymer bridges between cement particles, aggregates, and glass fibers. This improves ductility and long-term bending performance, allowing elimination of the traditional seven-day post-curing treatment when used in compliance with PCI MNL-130 Annex G requirements.

  • Add according to the specified formulation and mixing sequence to ensure uniform dispersion.
  • The material enhances spray performance on vertical surfaces, reducing sag, and improves pigment dispersion for consistent coloration between batches.
  • Use in a well-ventilated area. Wear safety glasses, protective gloves, and suitable work clothing. Avoid skin and eye contact and do not ingest.
  • Clean tools and spills with water before the material dries.
  • Store in original sealed containers in a dry, frost-free location.
  • Shelf life is at least 6 months from production when stored properly.
  • Dispose of waste in accordance with local regulations.
