Instructions
Safety
Use proper ventilation. Wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and vinyl gloves.
N.B. latex gloves will inhibit the cure of the rubber.
Storage and Use
Store and use at room temperature (23°C). Warmer temperatures reduce working and cure time.
Storing at cooler temperatures will extend the shelf life.
Cure Inhibition
Inhibition may occur with contaminants like latex, tin-cure silicone, sulfur clays, and certain wood surfaces. Test compatibility on a non-critical area.
Seal the object with a clear acrylic lacquer to prevent inhibition. Allow the sealer to dry before applying the rubber.
When in doubt, a small test application to determine suitability for your project is recommended.
When working with modeling clays that contain heavy amounts of sulfur, even a sealer will not suffice. Do a small scale test for compatibility before starting your project.
Measuring & Mixing
Pre-mix Part B thoroughly. Mix Parts A and B (1:1 by volume or weight) for 2-3 minutes, scraping sides and bottom. Vacuum degassing is recommended for 2-3 minutes at 29 inches of mercury.
Coverage Rate
Covers 0.2 sq. m/kg at 4.8 mm
One gallon (7.26 kg) covers 1.41 sq. meters.
Five gallons (36.29 kg) covers 7.05 sq. meters.
Applying The Rubber
Apply in 3-4 thin layers (1.5 mm per layer) to achieve a final thickness of 4.8 mm. Allow each coat to cure for 1 hour or until tacky before applying the next. Do not let rubber fully cure between layers to prevent delaminating.
Curing
Allow to cure for at least 3.5 hours at room temperature before demolding. Do not cure below 18°C.
Performance & Storage
Fully cured bags are durable. Clean with isopropyl alcohol before storage. Store on a level surface in a cool, dry place. Avoid stacking and exposure to moisture or UV light.
