Description

EZ-Spray™ 35 platinum-cure silicone rubber is designed for use with the EZ-Spray system and requires minimal surface preparation.

It can be used to quickly create rubber molds on surfaces in any position, including vertical and overhead.

The material cures in 1 hour. Shrinkage is  negligible.

EZ-Spray™ 35 is suitable for casting resins, foams, concrete, plaster, and more.

A support shell can be created using a compatible plastic spray.

Instructions

Storage

Store and use at room temperature (23°C). Products have a limited shelf life and should be used promptly.

Safety

Ensure good ventilation and wear safety gear including glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves. Use a breathing mask or air-supplied hood during spraying.

Cure inhibition

Inhibition may occur with contaminants like latex, tin-cure silicone, sulfur clays, and certain wood surfaces. Test compatibility on a non-critical area

Seal the object with a clear acrylic lacquer to prevent inhibition. Allow the sealer to dry before applying the rubber.

When in doubt, a small test application to determine suitability for your project is recommended.

When working with modeling clays that contain heavy amounts of sulfur, even a sealer will not suffice. Do a small scale test for compatibility before starting your project.

.

Applying A Sealer / Release Agent

To prevent inhibition, apply a clear acrylic lacquer barrier coat and allow it to dry thoroughly. A release agent can ease demolding. Use Ease Release™ 200 for silicone-to-silicone applications.

Applying The Rubber

Spray in layers, typically 2-4 layers (1-1.3 cm thickness).

The first layer captures detail; subsequent layers add strength.

Spray undercuts and recesses first.

Allow the first coat to become tacky before applying the next.

Avoid full curing between layers to prevent delamination.

Curing

Cure the mold for 1 hour at room temperature (23°C) before demolding. Avoid curing below 18°C. Post-curing at 65°C for 4-6 hours enhances properties.

Apply Support Shell

After curing, apply a support shell to prevent distortion during casting.

Use a compatible plastic spray for a durable shell.

Using The Mold

A release agent is optional but extends mold life. The choice depends on the casting material. Universal™ Mold Release is suitable for most resins.

Mold Performance & Storage

Fully cured molds are durable. The mold's life depends on usage and materials cast. Clean molds with soap and dry before storage. Store on a level surface in a cool, dry place. Avoid stacking and exposure to moisture or UV light.
