Description
Additives are designed to enhance the performance and versatility of prosthetic gelatin. These additives allow artists to adjust:
- Opacity
- Texture
- Firmness
- Translucency
They are suitable for creating wounds, scars, and other FX applications. Zinc oxide, for example, can increase opacity and create a more natural skin-like appearance. Safe for skin contact, these additives give FX artists, makeup professionals, and prop fabricators precise control over their gelatin creations. This enables consistent, realistic, and professional-quality prosthetic effects for film, theatre, and creative projects.
Instructions
Add a small amount of the desired additive (e.g., zinc oxide) to melted prosthetic gelatin and mix thoroughly until fully dispersed. Adjust the quantity to control opacity, firmness, or texture.
- Apply the modified gelatin directly to the skin or pour into molds for prosthetic pieces.
- Allow to cool and set before shaping or blending.
- Reheat gently if needed for reuse.
- Remove with warm water and soap.
- Clean tools immediately after use.
