Description

This four-component system combines alpha gypsum with specialized additives, centered around a water-based polymer emulsion (50% solids). It significantly improves the physical properties of alpha gypsum, reducing water permeability in both interior and exterior applications. Sealing is required for exterior use.

Suitable for various casting methods, including solid casting, rotational casting, hand lay-up with glass fiber, and spraying. Once cured, pieces can be painted, sanded, machined, and polished. Ideal for creating lightweight, strong, and water-resistant pieces, suitable for architectural elements, sculpture reproduction, and special effects.

Technical Specifications

  • Cure Time: 90 minutes

Instructions

This water-based, self-cross-linking acrylic co-polymer emulsion forms the core of the modified gypsum system. When combined with alpha gypsum, dry melamine resin, and a suitable hardener, it enhances gypsum products, creating strong, lightweight, water-resistant castings with improved workability, surface hardness, chip resistance, and reduced permeability. Suitable for interior and exterior applications when sealed.

Applications include architectural elements, decorative castings, and museum/art restorations. It can be diluted with water for use as a sealer.

Usage Instructions:
  1. Incorporate at the recommended loading with approved alpha gypsum and additives according to the formulation and mixing instructions.
  2. Ensure uniform dispersion and mix thoroughly before casting, laminating, or spraying.
  3. Store and use at room temperature; do not allow to freeze.
  4. Use in a well-ventilated area. Wear chemical safety glasses and protective gloves.
  5. Avoid prolonged skin and eye contact; rinse with water if contact occurs. Avoid ingestion and inhalation of mist or spray.
  6. Clean tools and equipment with water before the material dries.
  7. Store in tightly sealed original containers in a cool, dry location out of direct sunlight.
  8. Dispose of waste and empty containers in accordance with local regulations. Keep out of reach of children.
